Galatians 6:4-5 Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else. For each one should carry their own load;

The current blogs have been based out of a bible Study from
Lysa Terkeurst book Unglued http://melissataylor.org
This book as been most insightful for me, as I see how the Lord is bringing “life” confirming action into place, as I surrender to the teaching.
This week’s chapter (10) has been based on the “negative chatter” in our lives. Those misguided thoughts that turn into perceptions that can turn dangerous.
Imagine a circumstance, situation, challenge, or communication that is making life cah-razeey?? What is it about? How did it happen? What brought you to your conclusion that made you go crazy?
Once you “rationalize” it for a moment, is that “fixation” a reality, or is it a conjured up idea that your imagination has run ramped? When we let our thought life run wild, insecurity sets in, destructive words fall into play, it tends to end up hurting those closest to us. Toxic thoughts are opposite of what the truth is.
Wrong perception is a false reality (f.e.a.r = false evidence appearing real). When we have those moments of what we “imagine” the other person is saying or thinking, those runaway thoughts hinder our thinking, it can cloud our minds; “but positive thoughts allow us to process a situation accurately and respond in a healthy way.”

Instead of dwelling on a thought, conversations, or misunderstanding, confront it in and with love, for the sake of clarity. The truth always prevails. Don’t let misconstrued thoughts take the reign!

  •  Choose prayer over worry! Immerse your mind in the Word of God!
  •  Don’t hyper analyze!
  •  We should be valuing relationships and be supportive of each other.
  •  We don’t’ need the approval of man, but of God – therefore be obedient to Him at all times, He will lead the way every time!

We have so many emotions, especially us ladies, but God’s amazing Grace offers us the Bible as our guide to wisdom in handling every situation! Praise God – I am on HIS SIDE!

When comparison arises in the mind, it splits open like a dropped watermelon. Or as Lysa put it, (p 193), like a plow cutting a line in the soil to sow seed. We harvest what we speak or think about. So, I ask, what thoughts are you thinking today?

· Thoughts of jealousy? (this is what I am not)

· Thoughts of lack? (what I don’t have)

· Thoughts of comparison? (I’m not as pretty or talented as that person)

· How about coveting? )(they have it better than me)

· Then there is the if only’s (if I could go back and change things)

These are negative, life sucking thoughts, which entangle the mind and then plant deep into the heart. Therefore, what we think about turns into action – negative actions like lashing out, crying, or frustration. The feelings of inadequacy (which is not much more than lack of confidence) sets in and then it very well turns into a storm that erupts either in the mind or physically. Not so good, huh?!?

Shall we compare and or condemn ourselves or celebrate what God has done in our individual life?

Satan came to kill steal and destroy, (John 10:10), he wants you to live in defeated thoughts because you can never move forward into your fullest most potential life when you settle in negative thoughts.

Allow God to teach you, have a willing and humble heart. He will take the insecurities, hurts and pain you have encountered, and build you up. Why? It is His purpose that you life to the fullest. Praise God! Keep a teachable spirit. Don’t look to people as your source to fill you up. Look to the Maker of your soul, he loves you with an everlasting love!

Go on, I dare you – go a little bit higher in your life – don’t settle in the situation you are in today. God’s got a plan, to strengthen you, to transform you, a moment at a time. After all we are in this for a lifetime. We can’t start the race and finish well, without training, building, learning, leaning, falling, getting back up, and sometimes starting over, so don’t get frustrated, just refocus. Sometimes that means getting quiet. Let Him show you the way. He will help you, when you lean on Him. And don’t forget to communicate with those around you along the way. No one is a mind reader, nor can someone help you unless you reach out and ask; if someone doesn’t willingly want to be an active participant in your life, let them go, and move onto someone who CAN be a partaker in your life, in a healthy manner! It’s a  process.

What we think about turns into actions— Or reactions. You can change that all – by first, praising God for what you DO have. Try it for two weeks, don’t think about the lack, issues, think of the joy of the Lord and all he does do for you, and you will see a change.

Psalm 126:2

our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them.”

Philippians 4:4-9

Be full of joy in the Lord always. I will say again, be full of joy. Let everyone see that you are gentle and kind. The Lord is coming soon. Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks. And God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Brothers and sisters, think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected. Do what you learned and received from me, what I told you, and what you saw me do. And the God who gives peace will be with you.

Final thought:
1. Christ died for our sins, His grace is enough and always He is greater than our deepest fears!

2. An apology is not necessary to forgive.

3. Forgiveness doesn’t mean we have to maintain a relationship with that person

4. God is the ultimate judge — go ahead trust Him!

Let’s pray! Lord, thank you for a  good teaching, from wonderful teachers, as well as your Word. I am grateful to have a sound mind, as I seek after your perfect will in and through my life. I pray that as I seek wisdom, I  pray I will not over react, when I do, I will quickly repent, and ask the leading of the Holy Spirit to guide my heart and mind. I will quickly seek forgiveness to anyone whom I may have offended or who may have offended me (innocently, directly or indirectly). Thank you for your grace and love Lord Jesus, I want  to  honor you with my life. Let me be a positive example of your love and that it will abound in and through me as it does through you Jesus!

  1. This was a fantastic post. Thank you for sharing it with us. I love the analogy of comparison being like a dropped watermelon, it splits. It splits self confidence, relationships, especially our relationship with God.
